US HR Compliance Specialist 1 - Full Time Salt Lake City, UT, United States (Hybrid) Job Description The purpose of this role is to support HR core/essential legal compliance work for the US workforce at an entry level. Employees at this level work under direct supervision, have basic knowledge, and handle basic issues and problems. This role reports to the Manager of US HR Compliance and partners frequently with the Human Resource department leaders and teams, Centers of Excellence, internal and external legal counsel, and employees. Responsibilities Compliance with local employment requirements Support processes for I‑9 compliance, E‑Verify, and monitoring legal status for international students and foreign workers Support processes for all US legal compliance for employment laws and regulations Disability accommodation review and administration Support ADA processes for legal compliance with mandated state and local disability laws Response to subpoenas Legally required leave administration Support compliance for federally, state, and locally mandated leaves (e.g., FMLA) Training and support for managers Legal employment eligibility Governmental/court employment verifications Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field or any combination of equivalent education and work experience Beginning to working knowledge of HR legal compliance Familiarity with best practices of HR functions Key skills and core competencies including the ability to: Be organized with strong attention to detail Manage and prioritize multiple deliverables effectively Demonstrate strong time management skills Deliver excellent customer service Problem solve and provide effective solutions Communicate effectively in writing and verballyApply policy and law to business situations Collaborate and work effectively in a team Physical requirements may include sitting for extended periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment.
