Essential Functions & Responsibilities Prioritize health and safety by adhering to policies, processes, and maintaining safe practices at all times. Complete material analysis to determine characteristics and waste profiles. Make determinations of pH, screen for oxidizers, peroxides, cyanides, sulfides, and identify fuel and water compatibilities. Determine heat of combustion (BTU value), total halogens, and complete water analysis (by Karl Fischer), percent solids, and paint-filter liquids. Utilize the Company Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS). Perform compositing, packaging, organizing, and proper disposal of retention and other waste samples. Stock and organize laboratory areas and storeroom with chemicals and laboratory supplies. Perform instrument checks including refrigerators, balances, hoods, thermometers, and pipettes. Utilize and uphold good laboratory practices (e.g., QA/QC, documentation, maintenance/minor repairs, housekeeping, professionalism). Maintain ability to assist other laboratory shifts as needed. Takes on additional duties as assigned to support the team and organization. Education High‑school diploma or equivalent (required). Associates or bachelor’s degree in a science‑related field (preferred). Experience 2+ years of laboratory experience (required) – or In lieu of experience, an associates degree in a science‑related field (required). Environmental laboratory experience (preferred).
