Recovery Mind Counseling Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Telehealth Mental Health Therapist to provide specialized care and support for individuals impacted by trauma through our remote telehealth services. Our center focuses on treating individuals who have experienced trauma, specifically those suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Work Environment\nAs a remote telehealth-based position, the Mental Health Therapist will engage with clients in a virtual setting, allowing for flexible work hours and the capacity to meet patient needs from the comfort of their own environment. Our telehealth platform is integrated with state-of-the-art technology to facilitate seamless communication, therapy sessions, and care coordination. Offering flexible scheduling options, you will typically work Monday through Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, with the understanding that some variability may be necessary to accommodate patient schedules.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct thorough trauma-informed mental health assessments to evaluate each patient's trauma history, mental health status, and needs. \n
- Design, implement, and monitor customized treatment plans that cater to individuals' recovery journeys and focus on building resilience. \n
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to facilitate trauma recovery. \n
- Lead individual and group therapy sessions to aid patients in processing trauma, establishing coping mechanisms, and fostering overall well-being. \n
- Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists, psychologists, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure a continuum of care for patients. \n
- Provide crisis intervention services to support individuals in distress during trauma-related emergencies. \n
- Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, effective coping strategies, and available community resources for ongoing support. \n
- Maintain meticulous and confidential documentation in line with legal and ethical standards, ensuring comprehensive records of patient interactions and progress. \n
- Engage in case consultations, participate in regular team meetings, and contribute to ongoing professional development focused on trauma-informed practices. \n
- Stay current with the latest research, best practices, and innovations in trauma therapy. \n
This role primarily serves individuals who have experienced significant trauma, including survivors of domestic violence, childhood abuse, and other distressing events that may lead to complex mental health challenges. The focus on trauma-informed care is essential, as each therapy session aims to empower patients, help them process their experiences, and develop adaptive coping skills.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A Master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. \n
- Current, valid licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Clinical Psychologist, or Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California. \n
- Minimum of two years of post-licensure clinical experience, demonstrating expertise in trauma-related disorders. \n
- Strong familiarity with trauma-informed treatment modalities, evidenced by successful application in previous roles. \n
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, characterized by a compassionate, non-judgmental approach to patient interactions. \n
- Capability to remain composed and effective in high-pressure scenarios. \n
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications essential for teletherapy. \n
- A collaborative mindset, with a passion for working as part of a multidisciplinary team dedicated to comprehensive patient care. \n

- Experience with trauma-focused therapies, specifically EMDR and TF-CBT. \n
- A history of successful patient outcomes in therapeutic settings. \n
- Demonstrating leadership within a mental health team setting, contributing to ongoing training and best practices. \n
