Account Representative, SMB (Commercial Sales) - (Emerging Careers)

The North American Commercial Channel Sales Team is looking for an Account Representative (Emerging Careers). Our team is focused on selling SAS software, education, and services into a range of industries in the Commercial space in the US and Canada.

The role involves discovering, qualifying, and closing sales opportunities through focused prospecting, cold calling, and email cadence execution. It also includes maintaining and expanding relationships with existing customers to keep them informed about new products and to increase SAS usage throughout an organization. Additionally, the role requires retaining renewals within existing accounts, working with relevant resources throughout SAS that are part of your extended sales team, and helping drive business through our channel partners. Building and cultivating trusted relationships with customers, prospects, channel partners, and internal stakeholders to drive engagement, uncover opportunities, and support long-term business growth is also part of the job.

Required qualifications include a bachelor's degree in business, sales, IT, or other related field, and this is an early career position intended for candidates with 0-4 years of relevant full-time professional experience. Excellent communication skills, self-driven and organized nature, strong time management skills, and strong relationship building and interpersonal skills are also necessary. An equivalent combination of related education, training, and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications. Position location: Cary, HQ hybrid (minimum of 3 days in the office - Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday): preferred. Will consider candidates on a case by case basis.

Additional competencies, knowledge, and skills include knowledge of hardware and software acquisition cycles and buying influences, refining and continuously improving prospecting and sales techniques, good organizational and time-management skills, and the ability to analyze and evaluate territory dynamics, develop a sales plan, and accurately forecast sales.
