Overview
I’m currently working with a leading national CPA firm that is looking to add an experienced Tax Senior Manager to its growing Commercial Real Estate practice in New York City.
This is an opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of complex CRE engagements, work directly with sophisticated clients, and play a meaningful role in the continued growth of the practice.
Role
- Lead complex partnership and corporate tax engagements across commercial real estate portfolios
- Take ownership of engagement planning, budgets, timelines, execution and final deliverables
- Act as a key client contact, building long-term relationships with owners, investors and senior stakeholders
- Provide tax advice around structuring, compliance, research and other advisory matters
- Work closely with clients on complex tax issues and investor reporting
- Review and oversee high-quality tax work while providing direction and mentorship to the wider team
- Monitor engagement performance and communicate progress to senior leadership
- Identify opportunities to provide additional advisory services and contribute to practice growth
Requirements
- 8+ years of public accounting / tax experience
- Active CPA required
- Strong experience working with Commercial Real Estate clients
- Strong technical knowledge across partnership and corporate taxation
- Excellent understanding of the IRC and relevant tax regulations
- Proven ability to manage complex client engagements from planning through completion
- Strong client relationship and communication skills
- Previous experience leading, mentoring and developing teams
- Strong tax research and analytical skills
- Experience with CCH, GoSystems/ProSystems or similar tax technology is beneficial
