Overview The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Home Health provides compassionate, hands‑on care to a diverse community‑based caseload under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist. The COTA applies clinical expertise and evidence‑based best practices to implement individualized treatment plans, promote functional independence, and enhance quality of life while maintaining high standards for patient safety, satisfaction, and measurable outcomes. Responsibilities Ensure quality and safe delivery of services to patients according to care plans and use equipment and supplies safely and efficiently. Apply a patient‑centered approach considering physical, psychosocial, spiritual, educational, safety, and other factors appropriate to the age of the patient. Treat patients/clients to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance using specified occupational therapy procedures. Direct and aid patients/clients in their plan of treatment. Deliver quality care consistent with Home Health Conditions of Participation, qualifying home‑care criteria, payer coverage criteria, and the plan of care. Qualifications Education: Graduate of a state‑board approved program for Occupational Therapy Assistants. Licensure/Certifications: Licensed, registered, or certified as an Occupational Therapy Assistant by the state(s) where providing services; ICM certification; valid licensed driver with automobile insurance; mandatory child & dependent adult abuse reporter; valid Basic Life Support (BLS) healthcare provider card with re‑certification.
