Job Description

This role leads quality inspection activities within a manufacturing environment, ensuring products meet rigorous standards from first article through final inspection. The Quality Control Inspector / Lead oversees calibration of inspection equipment, guides inspection personnel across shifts, and supports continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and manufacturing efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Perform first article inspections and final inspections on manufactured products to verify conformance to specifications.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine inspection criteria.
• Manage and maintain the calibration program for inspection and measuring equipment to ensure accuracy and reliability.
• Inspect employee measuring tools and maintain accurate calibration records using Net-Inspect or similar systems.
• Track and document tools that pass or fail calibration requirements and take appropriate follow-up actions.
• Lead and coordinate the daily activities of quality inspectors across both shifts to ensure consistent inspection coverage.
• Communicate and collaborate with swing shift inspectors to maintain continuity of quality processes between shifts.
• Work closely with production leadership to maintain product quality while supporting manufacturing goals and schedules.
• Assist the quality function with root cause analysis and corrective action efforts when nonconformances occur.
• Participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings to evaluate nonconforming product and recommend disposition.
• Identify opportunities to mistake-proof processes and implement improvements that prevent recurring quality issues.
• Support continuous quality improvement initiatives across the manufacturing operation through data-driven feedback and suggestions.

Essential Skills

• Demonstrated experience performing quality inspections in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical documents.
• Knowledge of calibration processes and inspection documentation requirements.
• Hands-on experience using quality inspection and measuring equipment, including calipers, squares, protractors, micrometers, bore gauges, go/no-go thread gauges, and pin gauges.
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills when documenting inspections and calibration records.
• Leadership experience or clear ability to direct, coordinate, and support inspection teams across multiple shifts.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with quality and production teams.
• Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with manufacturing processes, particularly in metal fabrication or similar environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Quality experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing environments.
• Experience using Net-Inspect software or comparable quality management systems.
• Familiarity with root cause analysis and corrective action methodologies such as 5 Whys, fishbone diagrams, or similar tools.
• Experience in visual inspection and quality control within production settings, including food or other regulated industries.
• Exposure to continuous improvement practices and mistake-proofing (poka-yoke) concepts.

Work Environment

The role involves frequent use of precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and thread gauges, as well as computer-based systems like Net-Inspect for documentation and calibration management. You can expect to collaborate closely with production and quality teams across multiple shifts in a dynamic, shop-floor-focused environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Moxee, WA.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $27.00/hr.
