Registered Nurse - Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

Location: New Brunswick, NJ

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: Night shift, 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30

Job Description: The Registered Nurse will provide high-quality care in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, managing critically ill patients. The nurse will be responsible for direct patient care, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, and supporting families during critical times. The RN will utilize advanced clinical skills in care planning and execution, ensuring compliance with best practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for patients in the PICU.
• Monitor and manage critically ill patients, including the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Manage ventilator settings and CRRT (Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy).
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams for optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in on-call coverage for winter holidays as needed.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 2.5 years of acute care experience.
• Active NJ or Compact nurse license required.
• Certifications required: ACLS, BLS, PALS; NIHSS preferred.
• Experience with ventilator management, CVVH, and vaccine administration.
