Voss Postdoctoral Research Associate in Environment and Society

Overview The Institute at Brown for Environment and Society (IBES) seeks candidates for one or more distinguished postdoctoral research associate positions in the Voss Postdoctoral Research Associate program. Appointments are expected to last two years, beginning in July 2027 or soon thereafter. Voss Postdoctoral Research Associates conduct independent research under the mentorship of one or more IBES faculty with expertise across a wide range of disciplines. The program prioritizes applicants who demonstrate the ability to communicate across disciplinary boundaries and advance new scholarship beyond their dissertation or prior postdoctoral experience. Responsibilities Devote time to original research activities as described in the application. May be invited to teach undergraduate courses in special cases. Qualifications PhD conferred between July 1, 2024, and July 1, 2027; ability to work independently; interest in interdisciplinary dialogue; and a commitment to exploring diverse avenues for research impact beyond academia. Benefits Salary: $68,000 per year. Benefits package. Discretionary research fund of up to $4,000. Salary supplement of $3,000 during the first year to offset relocation expenses.
