Registered Nurse, Operating Room Inpatient Surgery (36 hours, Day/Evening)

Position Overview Registered Nurse – Menino Operating Room (Inpatient Surgery) Schedule: 36 hours, Days/Evenings, Every 3rd Weekend, Call Required Location: Menino Operating Room, Boston Medical Center Responsibilities Adhere to Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing rules and regulations. Provide professional performance and direct patient care across outpatient and inpatient surgical services. Conduct nursing assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, evaluation, and coordination of care for patients and their families. Accountable for clinical, educational, quality, and fiscal patient care outcomes using the department’s model of care. Follow established agency policies, procedures, protocols, guidelines, and standards of practice. Delegate appropriate patient care activities to team members. Manage stress related to critical patient care, changing organizational climate, and personnel issues. Qualifications Diploma, ASN, or BSN (preferred). Ability to obtain a BSN within 4 years. License to practice as a registered nurse in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Current basic life support (BLS) certification. Current or prior operating room experience preferred. Basic computer proficiency, including accessing, entering, and interpreting computerized data. Effective interpersonal, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills. Multilingual skills (beyond English) preferred. Relevant clinical experience and/or specialty certifications required for certain practice areas. Analytical ability to solve clinical nursing issues and conduct quality improvement projects.
