Classification Title:Adjunct – Law Enforcement Academy Instructor (Pool)Department:Law Enforcement AcademyPhysical Demands:Able to traverse campus, lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, reaching, handling, fine dexterity, bending, vision, hearing, and talking.Job Summary/Basic Function:Adjunct Instructors are hired in a part-time capacity on an as needed basis. These positions are filled prior to or during each semester and are contingent upon the needs of the College.Brazosport College accepts application materials for pool positions on a continuing basis throughout the year from qualified applicants willing to teach on a part-time basis.Academic departments will contact potential applicants when there are available openings.Job duties include, but are not limited to:Reports to the Program Chair, Law Enforcement AcademyTeaches Law Enforcement Academy classes using traditional and alternative delivery methodsSubjects or topics may be related to the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Basic Peace Officer Course or Continuing EducationSubjects or topics may consist of lectures or application of skillsClasses may be scheduled day, evening, or weekendsDevelops or revises lesson plans, exams, or other curricularCollege benefits do not accrue with this part-time position.Minimum Qualifications:High School DiplomaExcellent written and oral communication skillsOther qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one's value to the institutionMinimum of three years of experience as a Texas Pease Officer, Jailer Telecommunicator, or other Local, State, or Federal Criminal Justice professional.Exceptional employment, educational qualifications, or documented subject-matter expertise may be given special consideration in lieu of the TCOLE Basic Instructor Proficiency requirement #J-18808-Ljbffr Brazosport-College
