Medical Coding Specialist CPT/ICD Expert & Denials Resolver

1. Review medical record documentation to identify all services provided within the hospitaland by physicians.2. Assigns appropriate CPT and ICD-9/10 diagnosis and procedure codes to accurately support theneed for each service. Reviews record for services provided, but not adequatelydocumented in the medical record. Advises supervisor, department and/or physician ofdeficiencies to support the charge capture of all billing services.3. Analyzes and resolves claim rejects and denials from the billing office related tocoding issues.4. Assists with billing and documentation training in daily interactions with departmentsand physicians and other routine training sessions.5. Identifies trends/problems in medical documentation and recommends possible solutions.6. Will be required to use hands, arms, sit long periods, bend, stoop, climb, and move yourwhole body.7. Will be required to have good people skills as we deal with the public as well as otheremployees. Good communication skills are a must in writing, by telephone, e-mail or with people.8. Employee may be directed to perform other duties as requested by supervisor.High School DiplomaCoding Certification or successfully completed Coding & Medical Terminology Classes.Employee should have a working knowledge of CPT and ICD-9/10 and modifier use.Knowledge and/or experience in health care setting are a plus.Familiarity of personal computer operations.Basic knowledge of word processing #J-18808-Ljbffr
