About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Hospice Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (08:00 - 17:00) Experience: Minimum 1 full year Adult Home Health Experience or 1 full year Hospice experience depending on the specialty License: Must have license in hand Certifications: CPR, BLS Must-Have: Must have recent specialty experience Description: Provides coordination and direction for the provision of home nursing care according to physician's orders. Care is based on agency policies and procedures through the competent application of the nursing process. Responsible to the Clinical Manager. Directly supervises and evaluates Home Health Aides and Licensed Practical Nurses/Licensed Vocational Nurses. Home visits will be required. Periodic office meetings may also be necessary. Must have reliable transportation, a current driver's license, and agency-required liability insurance. The average number of patients per day ranges from 5 to 8. Each type of visit and activity (documentation, travel, etc.) holds a different point value. Contractors will be assigned between 5 to 10 patients per day that equate to roughly 6 to 8 points. Types of cases may include Start of Care, Wound Care, Follow-up Visits, and others. The travel radius is up to 75 miles from the designated care center. Mileage will be reimbursed at the standard IRS rate. Travelers are compensated for mileage from patient home to patient home. Documentation must be completed within 24 hours of the appointment with the patient. Delayed and incomplete documentation affecting billing and follow-up patient care will result in a cancellation. There are no guaranteed hours with this contract. Productivity expectations are set at 30 points per week, equating to approximately 40 hours of work. All overtime must be pre-approved. It is expected that the clinician will accept every patient on their schedule, regardless of distance from prior appointments. Declining patients may result in cancellation. All travelers must be proficient in the required charting systems and have used them within the last 6 months, or may need to complete retraining. Local candidates are accepted at the same rate.
