Travel Registered Nurse Med Surg Job

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for adult medical-surgical and telemetry patients.
• Monitor patient status, interpret vital signs and ECG strips, and respond to changes in condition.
• Administer medications, including cardiac infusions, and manage related therapies.
• Perform IV therapy, wound care, and maintain IV access as needed.
• Document assessments, treatments, and progress in the electronic health record; collaborate with the multidisciplinary team.
• Float to Med/Surg as required; participate in patient safety, infection control, and quality initiatives.
• Communicate clearly with patients and families regarding care plans and expectations.

Requirements

• Active New York State registered nurse license; Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required.
• NIH Stroke Certification required prior to start.
• Minimum 2 years of current RN experience; travel experience preferred.
• Strong IV skills, comfortable managing cardiac drips, reading ECG strips, and performing wound care.
• Ability to float to Med/Surg and work 3x12-hour night shifts, including every other weekend/holiday.
• Facility orientation requires completion of additional 8 hours of CEUs.
