Project Manager – Heavy Civil Site DevelopmentDo you thrive managing large-scale earthwork and underground utility projects from start to finish? Murren is seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Project Manager to lead earthwork, site development, and underground wet utility projects (water, sewer, and storm drainage) throughout the Southeast region. This is a high-impact role responsible for financial performance, execution strategy, client communication, and team leadership on complex civil infrastructure projects.Key Responsibilities:Develop and execute project plans specific to heavy civil site development and underground utility workAnalyze and fully understand civil drawings, grading plans, utility profiles, and contract specificationsManage mass earthwork quantities, production tracking, and cost controlDevelop and maintain detailed CPM project schedules and update progress regularlyPerform project setup including contract review, cost coding, and budget establishmentLead subcontractor and supplier buyout specific to civil scopes and utilitiesTrack quantities, equipment utilization, productivity, and cost performanceManage RFIs, submittals, pay applications, change orders, and subcontractor billingMaintain strong relationships with owners, engineers, and inspectorsLead and develop Project Engineers and field teamsEnsure compliance with safety standards and company proceduresProactively identify risk and implement solutions to maintain project performanceQualifications:5+ years of experience managing heavy civil construction projectsDirect experience with: Mass grading and earthwork operationsSite development projectsUnderground wet utilities (water, sewer, storm drainage)Strong understanding of civil drawings, specifications, and utility coordinationExperience managing self-perform civil teams preferredDemonstrated ability to manage project financials and job cost trackingProficiency in scheduling software (Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent)Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skillsBachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field preferredRequirements:Valid driver's licenseMust be a U.S. citizenParticipation in pre-employment and random drug screening programSubject to background screeningTo be considered for this position, you must first complete our Culture Index personality survey.
