Pay: $16.00 per hour
Start Date: As soon as next week
Assignment Length: Seasonal position through November 25, 2026
Schedule: Approximately 7:30 a.m.-5:30/6:00 p.m., depending on workload

Position Overview


A local agricultural laboratory is seeking dependable seasonal team members to assist with processing and preparing soil samples for laboratory testing. This hands-on position requires accuracy, reliability, and close attention to detail.


Employees will perform repetitive tasks throughout the sample-testing process and must be able to maintain accuracy while working at a steady pace.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, organize, and process soil samples for laboratory testing.
• Pull and prepare soil samples according to testing requirements.
• Read sample identification sheets and match samples to the correct locations within a testing grid.
• Place samples on the appropriate testing plates following established procedures.
• Carefully verify sample names and numbers to prevent mix-ups or cross-contamination.
• Prepare samples and materials for laboratory testing.
• Organize and track soil samples throughout the testing process.
• Wash sample containers and laboratory equipment as needed.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Report damaged samples, discrepancies, or other concerns to laboratory personnel.
• Follow all laboratory procedures and safety instructions.
• Complete additional general laboratory support duties as assigned.

Physical and Work Environment

• Laboratory setting.
• Prolonged standing may be required.
• Repetitive hand movements are involved.
• Frequent handling of soil samples, containers, and laboratory materials.
• Some lifting and moving of sample containers or materials may be required.
• Employees must maintain a clean and orderly workspace.

Dress Requirements

• Closed-toe shoes are required.
• Long pants are required.
• Clothing must provide appropriate coverage.
• Cropped shirts or exposed midriffs are not permitted.
• Clothing must be clean, practical, and appropriate for a laboratory environment.
