Nursery Worker

Overview This is a temporary position. Dates of employment are from 03/06/2026 to 06/27/2026. Responsibilities Pick, weed, water, prune, spray, space, tag, and fertilize plants. Count and inventory plant material. Load and unload finished plants onto wagons and trucks. Remove plastic from seasonal holding houses in spring and cover holding houses with plastic in fall. Assist in building seasonal holding houses. Physical & Work Requirements Carry and lift pots of plant material weighing up to 60 lbs. Move and load trucks with product up to 60 lbs and lift to a height of up to 5 feet for extended periods. Pushing, pulling, and navigating loaded carts weighing 100–300 lbs over long distances. Work standing on feet for long periods and in bent positions. Perform repetitive movements and extensive walking. Work in varying weather conditions, including rain, snow, wind, direct sun, high humidity, and temperatures ranging from 10 °F to 105 °F; may work during light showers and occasional extreme temperatures. Saturday work required. Physically capable of the duties with or without reasonable accommodations. Qualifications Minimum of three months prior experience in a wholesale nursery operation. Ability to perform manual and mechanized activities accurately and efficiently. Comprehend and follow instructions and communicate effectively with supervisors. Adherence to safety rules and pesticide re‑entry and other postings. Benefits & Conditions Company provides transportation from living quarters to work site at no cost (for workers who must be provided housing). Unpaid lunch break. Potential raises and bonuses based on performance, skill, and tenure. Workers may be required to work beyond stated daily hours, on Saturdays, or on federal holidays. Other Employees must be available for the entire employment period requested by the employer and must provide a verifiable statement of relevant prior work experience. A five‑day trial period will determine performance suitability; the employer may terminate workers whose performance is unacceptable. No smoking or tobacco use is permitted in fields or work sites.
