Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift travel contract at an acute care hospital in South Carolina, requiring active SC or Compact licensure and a minimum of 1 year of ICU experience.

Details

• 10-bed ICU within an acute care hospital (119 total staffed beds)
• Patient ratio of 1:2, with occasional 1:3
• Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (7p–7a)
• Every other weekend required
• On-call required: minimum 2 shifts per 6-week period
• Float to other units within the Midlands Division may be required
• Charting in Epic (preferred experience)
• Free parking available on campus

Requirements

• Active SC RN license or Compact RN license required prior to start
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• CCRN preferred
• Minimum 1 year of ICU RN experience required
• Experience with 1:2–1:3 patient ratios required
• Community hospital experience preferred
• Core skills required: IV therapy, titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips, cardiac monitoring, interpretation and management of dysrhythmias, management of multisystem organ dysfunction/failure, intake and output monitoring, 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Preferred skills include: arterial line management, central line and PICC line care, ventilator management, care of ventilated patients, HFNC, ABG interpretation, procedural sedation, continuous IV sedation, port access/management, blood product administration, phlebotomy, and CVA/acute stroke management
• Preferred experience in Neuro ICU or Surgical ICU settings

• Royal blue scrubs required
• All requested time off must be submitted at the time of initial consideration; requests submitted afterward will not be accepted
• Candidates who were previously permanent or PRN staff within the MUSC system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible to work as a traveler
• Locals (within 60 miles) are considered on a case-by-case basis; non-local candidates are prioritized
• During hurricane season (June–November), all staff and contractors — including travelers — may be assigned to emergency response teams; peak activity occurs in August and September
• Block scheduling may be requested prior to the assignment but is not guaranteed
