Responsible for overseeing the shop's daily operations, including the safety and efficiency of the staff, equipment, and processes.

Communicates and supports the Kirby Smith vision and core values of One Mission, One Team, One Plan, One Goal

Oversees the shop staff and equipment, ensuring that all operations are being carried out in accordance with company policies and safety regulations

Ensures that production is running efficiently and that all materials and products meet quality standards

Trains and supervises shop staff, providing guidance and feedback as needed

Monitors the progress of projects and ensures that deadlines are met

Troubleshoots and resolves any issues that may arise

Implements new processes and procedures as required in coordination with the branch service manager

Coordinates with other departments to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of operations

Ensures shop area is clean, organized, and free of dangerous or hazardous materials

Ensures that the correct tooling is available and maintained

Reads, interprets and composes work orders

Performs other job-related duties as assigned

High School Diploma or Equivalent

Strong understanding of the industry regarding safety protocols, industry terminology, and required documentation

Experience in best management practices and concepts and the ability to apply it in an acceptable and approved manner

Exceptional interpersonal skills and excellent communication skills

Adept at organizing, planning, and task completion to manage a high volume of department paperwork

Proficient with Microsoft Office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and various web-based applications

Pushing/Pulling/Lifting/Carrying up to 50 pounds without assistance

Physical ability to squat, twist, turn, bend, stoop, climb, and reach overhead

Must be able to work in extreme heat or cold and wet, damp, dusty, or windy conditions and tolerate exposure to typical noises, hazardous materials, and fumes/odors associated with the shop

Physical ability to perform maintenance on equipment for extended hours with continual mounting and dismounting throughout the workday

Ability to adhere to personal protective equipment (PPE) policy and maintain individual PPE in a functional condition
