Position’s Scope:

The Lead Program Technician is responsible for monitoring Alpine Springs clients and ensuring that both clients and staff adhere to Alpine Springs policies and procedures, as well as applicable PA Department of Health, Department of Drug and Alcohol (DDAP), and CARF standards. The Lead Program Technician serves as a role model for Program Technicians and assists with the day-to-day supervision, coordination, and daily operations of the Program Technician department. 

 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (May vary by shift and AS facility location):

• Help clients achieve treatment goals and objectives by coaching and guiding clients in resolving simple problems and acquiring skills for living a sober lifestyle.
• Monitor clients for compliance with Alpine Springs expectations, rules, and regulations.
• Monitor clients to ensure their safety and well-being through regular rounds and roll calls.
• Monitor client attendance and behavior at internal/ external groups and activities including: 12-step meetings, educational sessions and meals.
• Supervises clients doing their assigned chores.
• Completes client intake/admissions paperwork.
• Completes client withdrawal management bio.
• Makes bed availability phone calls to other treatment facilities (transferring from withdrawal management).
• Conduct group activities for clients (e.g. movies, mock 12 step groups).
• Transport clients to and from appointments and outside 12-step meetings and activities.
• Documents facility issues and client activities to ensure the ongoing maintenance of BestNotes/EMR records and reports.
• Assists with or conducts client body and belonging searches.
• Obtain urine drug screens from clients at admission, D/C, or when directed by On-Call Supervisor.
• Report all incidents including potential incidents of abuse or neglect immediately to direct supervisor and complete an Incident Report.
• Observe, respond to and report potential hazards which may result in an accident or injury to the client, staff, or others.
  
• Demonstrate job specific knowledge of fire and disaster preparedness during drills or actual situations. Protect client rights and apply principles of client privacy and confidentiality to all practices (HIPPA, PHI).
• Meet and maintain all standards in the facility (PA Health Department, Alpine Springs, DDAP and CARF standards).
• Monitor and maintain programming schedules.
• Maintain a safe, structured, and supportive environment for clients.
• Respond appropriately to client needs, concerns, and behavioral issues while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Complete and maintain accurate and timely documentation regarding client activities, incidents, observations, and interventions.
• Maintain confidentially and protect client privacy in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and organization policies.
• Maintain clear, accurate, timely, and professional documentation.
• Communicate effectively with Clinical staff, Admissions staff, Program Technicians, clients, and other members of the Alpine Springs team.
• Provide appropriate shift-to-shift communication regarding client needs, incidents, concerns, and significant events.
  
• Performs other related duties as assigned to meet the needs of the business.

Staff Oversight and Leadership

• Assist with the supervision and coordination of the Program Technician department.
• Works collaboratively with all department leads and assists the Project Director to accomplish all departmental goals.
• Provide direction, support, and guidance to Program Technician department staff during daily operations.
• Assists with scheduling of Program Technician department and helps ensure there’s adequate coverage.
• Monitor staff performance and adhere to Alpine Springs policies and procedures.
• Serve as a resource and role model for Program Technicians by demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and appropriate client interactions.
• Assists with training, developing, and orientation of both current and new employees within the Program Technician department.
• Assists in ordering supplies.
• Communicate staff concerns, performance issues, and operational needs to the appropriate supervisor or manager.
• Assist with staff meetings, department communication, and implementation of departmental expectations.
• Promote teamwork, effective communication, and a positive work environment.
• Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality at all times.
  

Job Type: Full-Time (40 hours per week). 

 

Pay: Competitive Wages; DOE. This position is hourly. 

 

Weekly Work Schedule:

• Generally, this position is afternoon shift, Mon-Fri from 3PM-11PM. 
  
• Days, Nights, or weekends are possible on occasion to aid in covering the hours of the company, must be flexible.

• Alpine Springs operates on a 24 hours per day and 7 days per week schedule. Employees are assigned shifts to accommodate these hours. All employees are expected to be flexible and understand that they may be asked to work different shifts/ at different sites to aid in covering the hours of the company.

 

Work Location(s):

• Linesville facility (Clinically Managed Residential and Withdrawal Management/Detox). 

Qualifications and Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• At least one to two years supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license.
• CPR/First Aid certification (preferred but will train).
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite or related software).
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
• Excellent time-management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work. 
• Excellent documentation and organization skills. 
  
• Must be kind and respectful to all clients and coworkers, have a positive attitude, and be a great team player. 
• Must be flexible (facility is 24/7).
