Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical

Job Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) in Medical Surgical specializes in providing comprehensive patient care for individuals undergoing treatment in a hospital setting. The RN coordinates and implements individualized nursing plans to promote recovery and well-being.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patients to determine their needs and develop appropriate care plans.
• Implement nursing interventions and ensure timely administration of treatments.
• Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
• Document patient conditions and responses accurately within electronic health records.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, treatments, and post-discharge care.
• Promote a safe, compassionate, and professional environment for patients and staff.

Qualifications:

• Hold current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Maine or have Authorization to Practice pending licensure by endorsement.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing school.
• Maintain BCLS certification; ACLS and PALS required within 6 months of hire.
• Demonstrate excellent assessment, communication, and documentation skills.
• Ability to function independently and work effectively within a team.
• Adhere to hospital policies regarding confidentiality, harassment, advance directives, and ADA compliance.
