Job Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Room

Location

Newburgh, NY | Emergency Department – Level III Trauma Center

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts | Onsite | Weekend and Holiday availability required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 30-bed Emergency Department operating as a Level III Trauma Center
• Manage high patient ratios in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment
• Administer medications safely to both adult and pediatric populations in accordance with facility protocols
• Recognize and respond to cardiac dysrhythmias, identifying rhythms and appropriate interventions
• Complete unit-specific competency exams upon orientation, including a Medication Administration Test and a Basic Dysrhythmia Recognition Exam, with a minimum passing score of 80%
• Adhere to facility dress code requirements (dark blue or white scrubs)

Required Qualifications

• Active New York State RN License
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• Ability to manage high patient ratios (up to 1:9)
• Must be available for weekend and holiday shifts

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience preferred
• Experience working in a trauma-level emergency setting
• Familiarity with adult and pediatric medication administration protocols
• Proficiency in basic dysrhythmia recognition and treatment interventions
