  • Support M&A tax and due diligence engagements, identify tax risks and opportunities in transactions, and prepare tax-related analyses and memos for buyers and sellers.
  • Manage and mentor tax staff: assign work, review deliverables, provide feedback, develop technical capabilities and ensure consistent quality and timely completion of engagements.
  • Implement and improve tax technology and workflow: leverage tax software (ONESOURCE, CCH, Vertex, CorpTax), ERP integrations (SAP, Oracle), tax provision tools, and data tools (Advanced Excel/VBA, Alteryx/Power Query, SQL) to increase efficiency and accuracy.

  • Drive client relationships: communicate complex tax concepts clearly, present tax strategies, manage expectations and contribute to business development efforts.
  • Ensure firm and client compliance with professional standards, ethical requirements and internal controls for tax accounting and reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; advanced degree (JD or LLM) or Masters in Taxation is a plus.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required; Enrolled Agent (EA) or equivalent tax designation is a plus. JD or LLM with tax focus desirable for certain trust & estate or international roles.
  • Minimum 68 years of progressive tax experience in public accounting or professional services, with demonstrated experience managing engagements and supervising staff.
  • Deep technical knowledge of individual, fiduciary, partnership and corporate tax (1040, 1041, 706, 709, 1065, 1120, 1120S) and passthrough entity issues.
  • Experience advising high-net-worth individuals, trusts and estates, family offices, real estate and construction clients, and professional services firms.
