Job Details Type: Contract (potential for permanent) Position: Phlebotomist 5185 Location: Glen Burnie, MD (floating job within specified counties) Schedule: 6:00 AM to 7:00 PM, Monday to Friday. One Saturday shift per month. Shifts are 8 hours; start time may be as early as 6:00 AM or as late as 7:00 PM. Projected duration: 3‑month contract with potential for permanent. Coverage Areas Job 1: Baltimore City, Frederick County, & Columbia Job 2: Baltimore City, Glen Burnie, & Columbia (may also cover Clarksburg, Frederick, and Olney) Driving Requirements Clean driving record and reliable transportation required. Mileage expenses paid. Responsibilities Perform blood draws, label specimens, centrifuge, split, and freeze specimens as per test order. Match laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes, ensuring 100% accuracy. Package specimens for transport and store according to temperature and protocol. Fully understand physician orders and comply with OSHA and DEP regulations. Attend annual department trainings and answer telephone calls regarding inquiries. Assist in troubleshooting, training and making workflow recommendations. Demonstrate technique using straight and butterfly needles; properly explain the venipuncture process to patients. Update patient information and maintain data integrity. Minimum Qualifications Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment. Minimum 6 months of work experience performing venipunctures in a fast‑paced lab or hospital setting. Minimum 2 years of overall experience in phlebotomy. High School Diploma or GED.
