Key Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab

• Obtain and record initial patient assessments and establish priorities based on age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
• Re-assess patients systematically to identify progress and trends requiring intervention.
• Develop and implement a measurable, individualized plan of care within the established timeframe.
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions and modify care plans based on patient outcomes.
• Participate in health education and discharge planning for patients and significant others.
• Implement and document timely interventions appropriate to patient needs.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the plan of care.
• Perform point-of-care testing procedures as required.
• Coordinate team assignments and adjust based on patient and unit needs.
• Promote a positive work environment with professional and supportive attitudes.

Requirements of the Registered Nurse - Cardiac Cath Lab

• Graduate of an accredited program for Registered Nursing.
• Current New Mexico RN license or current compact state license.
• BLS Certification from AHA required (or within 2 weeks of hire).
• Maintain required certifications and obtain any additional certifications within 6 months of hire.
• Current knowledge and skills appropriate to patient age/type served.
