Job Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - Cardiac Telemetry

We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse specializing in Cardiac Telemetry for a challenging and fast-paced unit. The ideal candidate should possess strong clinical skills and the ability to manage multiple patients effectively.

Job Details

• Type of Contract: 20+ weeks, with a hard stop on February 27, 2027
• Shifts: 12-hour night shifts (18:45 - 07:15)
• Patient Ratios: Target ratios are 1:5-6, which may fluctuate based on unit needs.
• Scheduling: Self-scheduling with oversight from leadership; no block scheduling available.
• Orientation: 36 hours of unit orientation required in the first week.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient care in a high-acuity cardiac telemetry unit.
• Provide pre and post-procedure care for patients undergoing cardiac interventions and procedures.
• Administer and titrate various cardiac drips including Cardiazem, Dopamine, and Amiodarone.
• Monitor and respond to unstable angina, low-risk chest pain evaluations, congestive heart failure (CHF), and dysrhythmias.
• Utilize telemetry and pulse oximetry to monitor patients' conditions closely.
• Collaborate with a team lead for efficient admissions and discharges, particularly in a rapid turnover environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cardiac telemetry unit or similar high-acuity settings.
• Experience with IV placement and management.
• Ability to take on a full assignment and shift responsibilities due to patient turnover.
• Certification in ACLS, BCLS, and NIH.
• Comfortable with a team environment and flexible in taking on additional responsibilities.
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start.

Additional Information

• Weekend commitment: every other weekend and selected weekdays as required.
• Unit supports high flow oxygen therapy and BiPap usage under specific conditions.
• Scrubs: Navy blue or white scrubs are required, along with approved jackets.
