Property Field Claims Adjuster (Central Missouri-Jefferson City/Columbia)

Job Description Summary You will work in the field and report to the Property Claim Manager, handling homeowner property field claims in Central Missouri (Jefferson City or Columbia) area. You must be located within this area. A company fleet vehicle is provided with the position and may be used for personal use. The role is 80% field based, with occasional visits to an office for meetings, training, and cultural events. Position Compensation: $57,000.00 - $94,000.00 (salary). Compensation may vary based on job level and geographic location. Relocation support is offered for eligible candidates. Primary Accountabilities Investigate origin and cause of claims by contacting insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, experts, and other adjusters. Identify complex issues and seek assistance as needed. Handle claims on a good‑faith basis, including both 1st‑party and 3rd‑party claims under multiple policy types and endorsements. Conduct on‑site inspections, evaluate damages, and negotiate with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and public adjusters. Respond to customer inquiries, make appropriate decisions, and close files as needed. Interpret and determine policies, leases, by‑laws, declarations, articles, and contract coverages and apply them to assigned losses. Proactively provide all parties with claim process and status updates and redirect questions to appropriate areas. Complete other assignments, job duties, or participate in projects as required. Specialized Knowledge & Skills Requirements Demonstrated experience providing customer‑driven solutions, support, or service. Experience handling 1st and 3rd party, multi‑line claims across operating territories. Experience handling moderately complex claims. Solid knowledge of casualty coverage policies, endorsements, and policy coverages. Solid knowledge of each phase of the claim handling process. Licenses: Valid driver’s license required with an acceptable driving record. Obtain state‑specific property casualty claims licensing as required. Additional Preferred Qualifications Familiarity and experience with Xactimate. Travel Requirements Up to 50% travel. Catastrophe duty up to 75% as applicable. Physical Requirements Ascend or descend ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, and poles. Work in higher‑hazard areas such as customer homes, body shops, or other locations. Move oneself in confined spaces and adjust objects up to 50 pounds. Work conditions may include low and high temperatures, precipitation, wind, noise, hazardous conditions, poor ventilation, and small or enclosed spaces.
