Summary

We have a current opportunity for a Temporary, RF Assembly Technician (willing to consider all levels) , for period of 6 months, with the possibility of extension, located at our facility in Longmont, CO. In this role you will assists engineers in the manufacture and test of prototype and flight RF Antenna Array and space system components. Responsible for setting up and operating equipment, and assembly and test of hardware, while adhering to pre-established guidelines and specifications. Relies on knowledge of the field, judgement and previous experience to perform the functions of the job. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Works independently and under limited supervision and engineering guidance within the scope of projects. Requires experience and knowledge of industry standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the fields of aerospace, engineering and/or science.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate, assemble, and test RF Antenna Array’s and space system hardware and ground support equipment with direction from engineering
• Facilitate hardware test activities such as functionality, use of VNA’s, spectrum analyzers, thermal testing, shock and vibration using internal equipment and capability external test vendors
• Assist engineers with designs, provide feedback with respect to manufacturability and user friendliness
• Work with engineers to troubleshoot and solve technical issues
• Perform manufacturing assembly procedures, rework, and repair on spaceflight hardware
• Identify faulty parts during the assembly process
• Cross train in multiple areas of specialty such as electrical assembly and soldering, structural testing, etc.
• Model exemplary professional conduct as a representative of Redwire

• Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations

Ideal Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent with 5 or more years of relevant experience, willing to consider degree in lieu of experience.
• Familiar with technical drawings and schematics, and the various symbols, perspectives, units of measurement, notation systems, visual styles, and page layouts used in technical drawings
• Familiarity with inspection equipment such as calipers/micrometers, dial indicators, gauge pins and blocks, etc.
• Excellent manual dexterity, ability to handle small parts such as fasteners as small as #0-80

Desired Skills

• 2 or 4-year technical degree may substitute for years of relevant work experience
• Previous Aerospace assembly in RF experience preferred
• High mechanical aptitude
• Possess strong problem solving and communication abilities
• Listen, communicate, and collaborate with production team manager and team lead
• High standard of quality workmanship
• Mechanical assembly of flight hardware
• Experience with electrical fabrication, basic soldering, and wire harness assembly
• Use of a variety of manual and electronic equipment
• Working knowledge of standards including GD&T (ANSI/ASME Yl4.5), GEVS, IPC J-STD-001 Space Addendum, IPC/WHMA-A-620, IPC 7711/7721, ASTM Test Methods
• Continuous improvement philosophies with the ability and interest in advancing existing facilities and developing new capabilities

Pay Range

$30.00 - $43.00 hourly

Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.

For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant's level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills.

Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set may be considered for higher pay.
