Medical Director (Nephrology)

ICON seeks a Medical Director specializing in Nephrology to lead medical affairs delivery across project portfolios in the United States or Mexico. The role involves providing strategic medical guidance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and overseeing medical monitoring activities within global clinical research teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead medical affairs delivery across assigned project portfolio and set team standards
- Provide strategic medical leadership and expert consultation throughout project lifecycles
- Review medical data on indication, inclusion/exclusion criteria, and safety issues
- Represent Medical Affairs in business development, investigator meetings, and project kickoffs
- Ensure compliance with ethical, legal, and regulatory standards in monitoring activities
Requirements
- MD or equivalent medical degree with Nephrology specialization
- Board certification in Internal Medicine or Nephrology
- Medical leadership experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or CRO settings
- Strong knowledge of regulatory and ethical standards in clinical research
- Excellent communication and ability to represent Medical Affairs effectively
- Experience with Phase II–III studies as industry professional or investigator
- Willingness to travel approximately 10% as needed
