Career Opportunities: Supervisor, Field Operations (110052) Requisition ID 110052 -Posted - Direct Operations - MD - Bel Air - Full Time - Regular Primary Role American Water is currently seeking a Supervisor, Field Operations to join the Bel Air team. As Supervisor, you will manage the day‑to‑day operations of water and/or wastewater plant(s), operations and/or distribution systems in accordance with company policies, procedures, and all applicable governmental laws and regulations. Key Accountabilities Assist with preparing and controlling local construction, operations, and maintenance within established budget limitations Establish a program that ensures all EPA Partnership for Safe Water goals are met period‑by‑period Ensure local water and/or wastewater operations meet required standards and are compliant with regulatory targets Supervise implementation of standards, targets, policies, and plans to improve operational efficiency, effectiveness, and profitability Maintain operational integrity (quality, environment, reliability, health, safety, security, etc.) Develop and direct cost‑effective solutions that meet customer expectations and technical requirements, encouraging best practice and innovation throughout all operational areas Implement effective reporting processes and provide analysis and support to Production and/or Network Director for reports, budgets, and business plans Coach and develop employees, fostering idea generation within respective functional areas Develop and implement people‑management policies and practices (time and attendance, workforce management, etc.) and deploy resources appropriately Reinforce the importance of developing a diverse workforce Support the Business Development function in operational analysis, pricing, and integration of water and wastewater business opportunities in both regulated and non‑regulated markets Collaborate with other functional leads to mitigate business risks Communicate effectively at all levels of operations Provide leadership that enhances flexibility to changing business environments Contribute to a culture of open and honest communication by listening, providing constructive feedback, and sharing knowledge and information relevant to the team and colleagues across the business Knowledge Knowledge of the regulated water/wastewater business within the region and the regulations impacting the business, as well as applicable regulations, requirements, and trends Knowledge of company policies and procedures, management theories, practices, and trends, and expert knowledge of process and operational areas Experience / Education 3–5 years experience supervising operational areas and operating units, and managing and meeting performance targets 2‑year or 4‑year degree in an operational discipline, management, or related technical discipline, or equivalent experience Equal Employment Opportunity American Water is firmly committed to Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and prohibits employment discrimination for employees and applicants based on age, race, color, pregnancy, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, marital status, citizenship, disability, protected veteran status, or any other status protected by federal, state, or local laws. #J-18808-Ljbffr American Water
