Quality Assurance Manager - Commercial Baking, Greenfield StartupBased in Columbus, OH, we are building a new commercial food manufacturing operation producing baked goods for retail and private label markets.We're seeking a Quality Assurance Manager with strong food safety leadership experience to build and lead quality systems from the ground up in a greenfield startup environment.Role and Responsibilities:Lead the development and implementation of the facility Quality Management System (QMS) in a greenfield manufacturing startupOversee food safety programs including HACCP, GMP, allergen control, and sanitation, ensuring readiness for production ramp-upEnsure compliance with BRC, SQF, GFSI, FDA regulations, and customer requirements; lead audits and certification effortsProvide technical expertise in baking science including ingredient functionality, process parameters, moisture control, texture, color, and shelf-lifePartner with Operations, R&D, and Engineering to support equipment startup, plant trials, and scale-up from pilot to commercial productionInvestigate quality issues, lead root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on waste reduction, yield, and product consistencyTravel to sister manufacturing sites multiple times per month to support knowledge transfer, process alignment, and best practice implementationQualifications:5+ years of experience in food quality, food science, or bakery manufacturingExperience managing HACCP, GMP, and food safety systems in a BRC, SQF, or GFSI-certified facilityStrong knowledge of commercial baking processes and FDA food safety regulationsLeadership experience managing quality teams in a manufacturing environmentBenefitsCompetitive Base Salary between $130-170kGenerous PTO/Vacation Package401(k) w/MatchMedical, Dental, Vision - STD/LTD, Life Insurance etc.Travel to Sister Facilities as Needed
