Program Manager – Combat Mission Systems BAE Systems is hiring a Program Manager for our Combat Mission Systems (CMS) business in Louisville, KY. The Program Manager will be responsible for managing and delivering on our commitments in our payload tube portfolio. This role primarily manages contracts and new business with existing customers. The role reports directly to the Director for Submarine Programs. Location / Schedule / Travel Onsite in Louisville, KY Workday begins around 7:00 AM 9/80 schedule (every other Friday off) Up to 10% domestic travel Accountable For Managing program execution to predictably achieve cost/profitability, schedule, and technical performance objectives Meeting financial commitments for orders, sales, profit, and cash flow Preparing and presenting program management reviews (PMRs) with information tailored to the appropriate level Establishing program direction for the matrixed team (operations including supply chain and manufacturing, engineering, field service, and others) Monitoring and controlling activities on current contracts including disciplined, effective change management Implement appropriate actions to resolve issues, manage risks, and realize opportunities Primary point of contact for providing clear, accurate, and timely communication to customers Pursuing and capturing new business in the submarine product area Responsibilities and Day-to-Day Activities Responsible for on-time completion of deliverables Ensure that the production team manages material and manufacturing of hardware, including final processing, shipment/delivery coordination, and quality reviews Partner with project controls to develop and maintain the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and manage the program team’s performance to the IMS Develop, create, and report on key program metrics including on-time delivery, material forecasts, hardware production and delivery forecasts, resource allocation, and performance to labor and material budgets Identify and assess performance gaps to customer expectations or program objectives, develop and initiate improvement plans to close the gaps, and use metrics to verify performance against plan Support recurring status meetings with the program team and customer and program review meetings with business and customer leadership Host customer meetings at the Louisville factory, coordinate visits with export and security functions Present new business opportunities to leadership and lead capture activities including proposal development Required Education, Experience & Skills Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of work experience or equivalent Strong customer focus and relationship building skills Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders Strong reporting and presentation skills with clear and concise data Experience in Program/Project Management Experience in Scope Management Experience in Team/Cross-functional Leadership Experience in Manufacturing/Production Experience in Stakeholder Management/Influencing Experience in Defense (DoW)/Government Contracting Knowledge of project management methodologies, toolsets, processes, and governance Knowledge of program scope management and cost estimating including ETC/EAC processes Ability to develop and implement effective program plans specifying goals, staffing, scheduling, risk identification, contingency planning, and resource allocation Ability to initiate, prioritize, and coordinate multiple tasks simultaneously Ability to achieve program objectives using a team-based approach that demonstrates the value of each team member Ability to effectively manage program complexities and structuring activities in times of ambiguity Ability to operate independently and proactively Ability to create effective PowerPoint slides for senior leadership and customer meetings Ability to confidently and knowledgeably present program data and status reports Proficiency in MS Office Preferred Education, Experience & Skills Professional Certifications (PMP) Experience in a Firm Fixed Price Environment Experience in Engineering/Technology or Operational Excellence (OE) Experience in Control Account Management (CAM) or Earned Value Management (EVM) Experience in Lifecycle Management (LCM) Experience in Performance Management (KPIs and Metrics) Knowledge of Profit and Loss (P&L), understanding orders, sales, cash, profitability and the impact of program execution and performance Business Acumen and Executive Presence to confidently support a complex program Ability to influence cross-functional teams without authority Ability to thoughtfully develop reports and presentations with the target audience in mind Experience in Oracle or ERP Advanced Excel skills Pay Information Full‑Time Salary Range: $136,000 – $231,200 Benefits Health, dental, and vision insurance Health savings accounts 401(k) savings plan Disability coverage Life and accident insurance Employee assistance program Legal plan Discounts on home, auto, and pet insurance Paid time off, paid holidays, parental, military, bereavement, and sick leave Recognition program for monetary and non‑monetary awards #J-18808-Ljbffr BAE Systems, Inc.
