Job Summary Trauma / Critical Care Surgeon – MetroHealth Medical Center, Cleveland, OH. Full‑time academic position with biweekly hours averaging 80.00 hours. Shift: 8–5. The Division of Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, Burns, and Acute Care Surgery at MetroHealth Medical Center is accepting applications for a full‑time academic surgeon. Successful candidates should be board‑certified/eligible in General Surgery with added qualifications in Surgical Critical Care and have a strong interest in teaching. An academic appointment to Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) commensurate with the candidate's academic record will be offered. Responsibilities Provide high‑quality care to trauma, emergency general surgery, and critically ill patients. Take approximately 4–6 calls per month covering acute care surgery (trauma, general surgery, and critical care). Serve as a team player and mentor, training residents and fellows from the region, including ED residents, Cleveland Clinic surgery residents, and students from CWRU and University Hospitals of Cleveland. Contribute to a critical care fellowship program and foster leadership development. Participate in academic activities, including teaching, research, and publication, to advance the group’s academic reputation. Qualifications Board‑certified/eligible in General Surgery. Additional qualifications or experience in Surgical Critical Care. Strong interest in teaching and academic career development. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team. Commitment to high‑standard patient care and continuous learning.
