Position Overview The Miner is responsible for safely and efficiently performing underground mining activities that support ore production at Bunker Hill Mine. This role performs a variety of underground mining, development, ground support, and material handling tasks while operating mining equipment and working collaboratively with the crew to meet production objectives. The successful candidate demonstrates a strong commitment to safety, environmental stewardship, teamwork, and operational excellence. Duties & Responsibilities Perform underground mining activities in accordance with mine plans, procedures, and safety requirements. Operate loaders, haul trucks, drills, bolters, utility vehicles, and other mining equipment as assigned. Complete scaling, mucking, drilling, blasting support, and ground support installation activities. Inspect work areas for hazards, ground conditions, and equipment issues before and during operations. Install and maintain rock bolts, mesh, screen, and other ground support systems. Load, haul, and transport ore and waste materials safely and efficiently. Conduct routine equipment inspections and basic preventative maintenance. Participate in pre-shift meetings, safety inspections, toolbox talks, and emergency response activities as needed. Accurately complete production, equipment, and safety documentation. Comply with all company policies, MSHA regulations, and environmental requirements. Experience Requirements High school diploma, GED, or equivalent. Previous underground or surface mining, heavy industrial, construction, or related experience preferred. Ability to safely operate or learn to operate underground mining equipment. Knowledge of mine safety procedures, hazard recognition, and risk management practices. Strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Ability to read and follow mine plans, procedures, and work instructions. Valid driver's license and the ability to maintain mine site driving privileges. Underground hard rock mining experience, MSHA certifications, mechanical aptitude, and equipment maintenance experience are strongly preferred. Physical Requirements Ability to work underground in confined spaces and varying environmental conditions. Ability to stand, walk, climb ladders, bend, kneel, squat, and crawl for extended periods. Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 pounds regularly and greater weights with assistance. Ability to wear required personal protective equipment, including respirators where required. Ability to work around noise, dust, vibration, and heavy equipment. Ability to work extended shifts, weekends, holidays, overtime, and rotating schedules as operational needs require.
