Work Environment

You will work onsite at our hospital facility, providing care in a dynamic and collaborative environment. The rehabilitation team includes not only Physical Therapists but also Occupational Therapists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Physicians. Our professional atmosphere encourages continual learning, teamwork, and supportive patient relationships. Working hours are typically Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM or 8 AM to 4 PM, allowing for a balanced work-life schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist Physical Therapists in the initial evaluations and ongoing assessments of patients' physical capabilities and progress.
• Implement and follow through on treatment plans devised by Physical Therapists to improve patient mobility, strength, coordination, and overall functional ability.
• Administer therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques such as massage and soft tissue mobilization to address musculoskeletal complaints.
• Utilize various modalities, including electrical stimulation and ultrasound therapy, in conjunction with prescribed treatment plans.
• Participate in regular multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient progress and adapt care strategies as needed.
• Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs, emphasizing the importance of adherence to promote effective recovery.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of patient interactions, treatments, outcomes, and discharge recommendations in compliance with regulatory and organizational standards.
• Pursue ongoing professional development through training and certification opportunities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.

Patient Population / Client Focus

This role primarily involves working with patients recovering from orthopedic surgeries, sports injuries, and other musculoskeletal issues. You will engage with a diverse patient demographic, including children, adults, and seniors, each requiring tailored therapeutic approaches to meet their rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program is required.
• Possession of a valid California Physical Therapist Assistant License.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, essential for patient interaction and collaboration with team members.
• Strong clinical assessment capabilities and a solid understanding of treatment modalities and therapeutic exercises.

Preferred Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in an outpatient, hospital, or clinic setting is preferred.
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary team environment focused on orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation.
• Familiarity with electronic documentation systems and patient management software.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, ranging from $50,000 to $70,000 annually, commensurate with your experience and qualifications.
