This new, two-story, 84,500 square foot outpatient facility includes outpatient surgery, imaging, lab, therapy, and Washington University physician subspecialty offices including the Departments of Orthopaedic Surgery, Internal Medicine, Ophthalmology, Surgery, and OB/GYN. The surgery suite includes three operating rooms and two minor procedure rooms (one currently performing GI cases and the other performing MSK, physiatry and outpatient Cardiology procedures). Imaging services include plain film, CT, MRI, and screening mammography. Surgerical cases: Ophthalmology-cataract and cornea Oculoplastic Eye Muscle ENT Orthopedic hand, knee, and shoulder Plastic breast cases Rhinoplasty GYN Colorectal and diagnostic laparoscopy Procedures include: Colonoscopy and Upper Endoscopy MSK/Physiatry Cardiology Overview Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is the largest hospital in Missouri and is ranked as one of the nation's top hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. The Center for Advanced Medicine - South County is a new outpatient facility, jointly owned by Washington University School of Medicine and Barnes-Jewish Hospital, that is under construction in South St. Louis County. The building, scheduled to open in late spring 2016, is located near the Siteman Cancer Center at I-55 and Butler Hill Rd. Preferred Qualifications Role Purpose Provides and coordinates direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning implementation, and evaluation within the guidelines of the standards of nursing care. Supports the clinical manager with the delivery of safe patient care and building an effective work unit. Responsibilities Circulates and scrubs for assigned specialty and OR procedures. Serves as liaison between specialty physicians and hospital. Reviews and maintains physician preference cards from assigned specialty. Maintains proper function of equipment in assigned specialty. Serves as a clinical preceptor/mentor for orienteer and existing staff being introduced to the specialty area, providing them with clinical experience that promotes growth and competency. Presents training sessions on new equipment and instrumentation for nursing and technical staff members when the need arises. Provides feedback to the management regarding staff evaluations. Manages the inventory of specialty supplies to maintain par levels. Reviews specialty case cart supplies, custom pacts, for accuracy and cost effectiveness. Meets with vendors and serves as a liaison between them, management, and the physicians.
