What You'll Do Here: Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work orders to determine project requirements. Measure, cut, shape, and assemble metal components according to specifications. Operate fabrication equipment and hand tools safely and efficiently. Perform welding, grinding, drilling, and finishing work as required. Inspect fabricated parts and completed assemblies to ensure quality standards are met. Repair or modify metal structures and components as needed. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Conduct routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs. Collaborate with welders, fitters, supervisors, and other team members to complete projects on schedule. Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards. Accurately document completed work and material usage. What You Bring to the Team: Minimum 2+ years of experience in metal fabrication, welding, or a related manufacturing environment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and fabrication specifications. Experience using fabrication equipment such as saws, grinders, presses, drills, and cutting tools. Knowledge of measuring tools including tape measures, calipers, squares, and levels. Experience with MIG, TIG, and/or stick welding preferred. Strong understanding of workplace safety practices and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE). Ability to lift, move, and handle materials in a physically demanding environment. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work. Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet production deadlines. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, bend, kneel, and work on feet for extended periods. Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds or more, with assistance when required. Comfortable working in industrial, construction, or shop environments with varying temperatures and noise levels. Aecon fosters belonging within and across our organization.
