Surgical Tech - Certified Surg Tech Profession: Surgical Tech Specialty: Surgical Tech Duration: 8 Shift: CST required, proficient in all specialties i.e., total joint/trauma, neuro spine, vascular, robotic Hours per Shift: Not specified Experience: Scrub technician experience preferred; operating room experience and/or training course preferred License: Surgery Technician certification preferred Certifications: CPR or BLS certification required; CNA certification preferred Must-Have: High School Education or GED required Associates/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience preferred Description:Assists the surgical team in the preparation of surgical procedures in the operating room.Prepares surgical cases by creating and maintaining a sterile field.Retracts and passes instruments, supplies, and medications to surgeons during cases.Performs a variety of technical skills, including the maintenance of supplies.Prepares for each surgical case by accurately checking required supplies and equipment prior to the case.Assembles appropriate supplies and equipment prior to operative procedures.Reviews equipment inventory for specialty as assigned.Sets up operative instrumentation and sterile field for expedient retrieval and utilization.Collects data on assigned surgical cases by the unit based on Performance Standards of Care.Cleans equipment and facilities as necessary.Performs housekeeping duties as requested.Transports patients according to unit schedules and priorities.Provides clerical duties.Completes instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the Registered Nurse according to established standards.Sets up and maintains a neat and orderly sterile field, demonstrating careful attention to aseptic technique.Labels solutions according to established standards.Performs other job-related duties as assigned.Organizational Requirements:Commitment to the safety and well-being of associates and patients.Requires all associates to receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable.Medical and religious exemptions may apply.Participates in E-Verify. #J-18808-Ljbffr Cynet HealthStaff
