Personal Banker I – Abrams-Goliad General Function: The Personal Banker I position provides an exceptional customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing long‑lasting relationships with existing and prospective customers. The role is responsible for processing teller transactions, managing platform staff responsibilities, and helping customers understand and address their financial needs. Solutions are tailored across the customer lifecycle using a consultative sales and service process. The banker is responsible and accountable for risk by exchanging ideas, elevating concerns, and following policies and procedures while consistently identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring, and reporting risks of all types within the Bank’s risk appetite. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Create a memorable customer experience by cultivating, maintaining, and enhancing relationships in an assigned book of business through proactive outreach efforts in person, over the phone, or other channels as appropriate. Use a consultative approach with current or prospective customers to uncover and identify their needs while tailoring recommendations, solutions, and advice. Maintain working knowledge of products, services, and processes offered. Work collaboratively with internal partners to ensure customers’ needs are met and all problems are resolved. Analyze customer credit data and other related financial information to ensure customers are in appropriate solutions that align with their needs. Provide customer support needed to reinforce the value of current and new technology. Process teller transactions and adhere to balancing guidelines. Follow the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics and other related policies, modeling the ethical behavior expected from every employee within the Bancorp. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required High School Diploma/GED and 6 months customer service experience, or college degree or equivalent military experience. Demonstrated ability to develop comfort level with both new household acquisitions and deepening customer relationships. Ability to professionally represent Fifth Third Bank in verbal and written communication. Exhibits business acumen. Demonstrated ability in making sound decisions. This position requires SAFE Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS). Working Conditions Normal office environment.
