The organization is seeking a Non Destructive Examination (NDE) Engineer to support and advance inspection technologies across its manufacturing operations, partnering closely with Quality, Metallurgy, Process Engineering, Production, and certified NDT personnel to improve inspection processes and drive continuous improvement.ScheduleFull time, onsite at the Spring Grove, IL facility, with up to 15% travel between facilities. Compensation$85,000 to $110,000 per year, based on experience.What You'll DoThe NDE Engineer supports and improves non destructive testing processes including Ultrasonic Testing (UT), Magnetic Particle (MT), Liquid Penetrant (PT), and Radiographic Testing (RT), and develops and maintains NDT procedures, work instructions, inspection techniques, and ultrasonic reference standards. This role troubleshoots inspection and manufacturing issues using structured problem solving methods such as 8D, Root Cause Analysis, Fishbone, and Lean principles, and evaluates and implements new inspection technologies including Phased Array UT, immersion systems, automation, and robotics.This person reviews customer specifications, engineering drawings, and acceptance criteria to determine appropriate inspection methods, and analyzes inspection data and nonconformance trends to identify process improvement opportunities. The role also supports equipment calibration, verification, and inspection readiness, provides technical support to Quality, Production, Engineering, Metallurgy, and NDT personnel, assists with training and mentoring NDT technicians, supports internal and customer quality audits, and participates in Lean, Six Sigma, 6S, and continuous improvement initiatives.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering0 to 5 years of engineering experience through internships, co-ops, research, senior design projects, or manufacturingUnderstanding of NDT methods including UT, MT, and PTAbility to qualify under ASNT SNT-TC-1A or ISO 9712 certification programsExperience interpreting engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentationCAD experience, SolidWorks preferredStrong analytical, communication, and technical writing skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office and manufacturing or quality systemsWillingness to work in both engineering office and manufacturing shop floor environmentsPreferred QualificationsHands-on experience with ultrasonic, magnetic particle, penetrant, or radiographic inspectionASNT Level II certification, or progress toward certificationLean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Kaizen experienceMetals, forging, steel, or heavy manufacturing experienceExperience with ERP/MRP systems, inspection reporting software, or quality management systemsExposure to robotics or automated inspection systemsCompensation and Benefits$85,000 to $110,000 per year, based on experienceMedical, dental, and vision insurance401(k) Paid time off To apply, submit your resume for consideration.
