• Experience: Minimum 1 year ICU experience; first-time travelers must have 2 years of permanent staff RN experience in acute care
• Patient Types: Critically ill patients in Medical, Surgical, Cardiac, Neuro units (e.g., STEMI, Resp. Distress, Sepsis, Stroke, DKA, post-surgical care)

What You'll Do:

• Provide advanced nursing care to critically ill patients in ICU and float to MedSurg units as needed
• Manage complex equipment such as Art lines, Central Lines, EVD drains, and Chest tubes
• Perform patient assessments and monitor vital signs, with proficiency in EKG interpretation (pass EKG competency exam required)
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including RT, hospitalists, and charge nurses
• Follow established protocols for patient safety and infection control, including PPE usage
• Chart accurately in the Meditech Expanse EMR system
• Administer medications using Pyxis and operate infusion pumps (Alaris)
• Support patient needs during high-acuity situations, including STEMI, stroke, sepsis, and post-surgical recovery

What You Need:

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or eligible for licensure in Louisiana
• Minimum 1 year ICU experience; 2 years for first-time travelers in acute care setting
• Current BLS, ACLS, NIHSS certifications
• Competency in EKG interpretation, Art line, and Central line management
• Comfortable working night shifts, floating, and responding to unit needs
• Ability to work under high-pressure conditions with critical patients
