We are seeking a gracious, thoughtful, and motivated part-time Bartender who can create a sense of luxury while engaging with guests in a fast-paced environment. We look forward to connecting with you!Position Summary:The Bartender is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience in the Marisol Bar and Lounge. They will maintain a timely flow of service, deliver a personalized bar experience, and will model The Cliffs' Mission and Values and Forbes standards as they engage with the guests in their daily interactions.Essential Functions of the job:Must be available 3 shifts per week minimumMust be available to work weekends, nights, and holidaysGreet and engage all guests in the bar/lounge with a welcoming, friendly attitude, within 1-2 minutes; using the guest's name in accordance with their preferenceEngage with guests in an articulate manner, using correct verbiage and avoiding slang and use of phrase-fragmentsTake, place, deliver and serve food and beverage ordersAsks each guest about dietary restrictions, preferences, or allergies; or proactively acknowledges these if previously been made knownDemonstrates genuine interest in each guest, personalizing the bar experience consistently and respectfullyGuides guest through the ordering process, sharing knowledge and details of menu items (taste, texture, preparation, presentation), providing menu recommendations based on the needs of the guestTakes initiative to deliver anticipatory service, automatically providing or offering items to meet the guests' needs (refills, condiments, dessert, etc.)Delivers on guest requests, offering appropriate alternatives if original request can't be satisfiedShares local expertise when making recommendations to guests through providing first-hand knowledge and testimony, providing directions and transportation options when appropriateReacts to any and all guest complaints in a timely, discreet and professional manner; offering appropriate alternatives to difficult requests in partnership with the Restaurant ManagerAssists as needed to maintain standards of appearance, sanitation and service in all areas of the bar/loungeEnsure quality of ingredients, preparation, presentation, and correct temperature of food served to guestsEnsure time standards are metExhibit appropriate selling skills in suggestions of food and beverageDemonstrate an attitude of friendly hospitality in every aspect of serviceCloses out each dining experience with using the guests' name, a thank you, and a warm wishCommunicate pleasantly and graciously with guests, management and co-workersComply fully and consistently with all the hotel and restaurant conditions of employment and standards of uniform, groomingPerforms all other tasks as directed by managerPhysical Requirements:Ability to stand/walk continuously for the duration of the shift (eight hours).Be able to stretch, twist, bend, and lift frequently up to 40 pounds in weightAbility to work in stressful situations.Education, Experience, Skills:High school diploma; college degree preferred.Responsible Beverage Service training & ABC exam, or be willing to take exam upon hireWorking knowledge of guest services in a luxury hotel setting.Excellent command of English language.Ability to work with people effectively.Ability to multitask and work in mentally demanding situations.This job description is not a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee.
