Position Overview

We are seeking a qualified Registered Nurse (RN) for a 13-week contract in a Behavioral Health/Psychiatric unit. The schedule consists of 12-hour evening shifts with a 36-hour guarantee. The successful candidate must be flexible and available to work every other weekend.

Patient Demographics

This role involves working with individuals across all age groups, including:

• Children (Ages 5-12)
• Adolescents & Teenagers (Ages 13-17)
• Adults (Ages 18-64)
• Seniors (Ages 65+)

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities include providing personalized nursing care to patients experiencing acute behavioral, mental health, and mood disorders. The nurse will engage in:

• Assessment and management of patients' health needs
• Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams for treatment planning
• Providing education and support to patients and their families
• Maintaining accurate paper documentation of patient care

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• At least 1 year of recent experience in Behavioral Health/Psychiatric nursing
• Ability to provide care to a diverse patient population
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Experience with paper charting

Care Provided

The inpatient unit provides acute, short-term care with the goal of patient stabilization, enabling individuals to return home or transition to a lower level of care. This role may also involve participation in long-term treatment and educational support, particularly for young patients.
