Together, we'll continue to redefine what it means to provide exceptional transportation services.Position Summary:The Fleet Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing fleet equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety. This role involves conducting failure analysis, performing preventive maintenance, and completing accurate documentation of repairs. The mechanic maintains a clean, compliant work environment, adheres to company policies, and communicates effectively with management regarding equipment needs and safety concerns.Hours: 7:00 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday - FridayEssential Duties:Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs fleet equipment safely and correctlyConducts failure analysis, repairs, and rebuilds fleet equipment components correctlyInforms management about housekeeping opportunities, harmful working conditions, and unsafe work practices, and suggests corrective actionsIdentifies and informs management of broken tools and missing supplies required for performing repairs on fleet equipment, and takes steps to solve issue if possibleCorrectly completes work orders and documentsMaintains a clean and safe work environment to ensure safety and complianceComplies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrityPerform additional duties as assignedOperate and inspect mechanical equipment to diagnose defectsAnalyze malfunctions and perform general overhaul, tune up or preventive maintenance of equipmentDismantle and reassemble equipmentPlan work procedure using charges, technical manuals and experienceEnter labor lines and parts into repair order computer systemReact to change productivity and handle other essential tasks as assignedMinimum Requirements:Two years' verifiable experience in tractor and trailer inspection and repair OR a technical school degree, or certification in Heavy Duty Truck/Trailer Maintenance with one verifiable experienceA valid state-issued driver's licenseMust pass DOT physical and drug screenA CDL, ASE and State and/or Federal inspection certification is preferred but not requiredCommand of English language to communicate effectively with internal and external customersKnowledge of methods, materials, tools and techniques used in the repair and maintain a variety of heavy trucks and semi-trailers and other mechanical equipment is requiredBasic hand tools are requiredMust have working knowledge of the operating principles of diesel engines and repair of heavy trucksAbility to maintain detailed time and parts used on work ordersMust possess excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to communicate to both internal and external customersComputer skills needed for diagnosticsWorking Conditions/Physical Requirements:Medium work: exerting up to 50 pounds of force frequently to lift, push, pull, or otherwise move objectsSubject to both internal and external environmental conditionsSubject to: standing, climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching and reachingBenefits:Up to $500.00 annual tool allowanceState-of-the-art, climate-controlled facilityHealth / Dental / Vision / Life / Disability InsurancePaid Time Off401(k) MatchingYearly Safety BonusChristmas BonusThanksgiving Turkey
