Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Neuro Med/Surg unit position requiring an active IL RN license and a minimum of three years of nursing experience.

Details

• Med/Surg Neuro unit within a hospital setting
• Care for patients with mild to severe brain injury resulting from stroke, trauma, or surgery
• Day shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts totaling 36 hours per week
• 6 weekend shifts required per scheduling period
• Holiday coverage required on a per-unit rotation basis
• Utilizes Epic EMR for charting

Requirements

• Active Illinois RN license required (temporary license accepted)
• Minimum of three years of relevant nursing experience
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association)
• ASN required, BSN preferred
• Level 1 Trauma center experience required
• Epic EMR charting experience required
• Demonstrated skills in neurological care, seizure response, medication administration, documentation, safety compliance, and interdisciplinary collaboration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive nursing care including patient assessments, care planning, medication administration, and patient education
• Identify and respond immediately to neurological changes and seizure activity
• Delegate and oversee patient care tasks performed by health care technicians
• Maintain patient safety through fall precautions, isolation precautions, and pressure ulcer prevention
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to ensure coordinated, safe patient care
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• RTO limited to no more than 7 total days during the 13-week contract
• Assignment length limited to 1 year at this health system, requiring a 6-month break in service before returning
