PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT ENGINEER

The Dupps Company is hiring a Product Development Engineer for our Germantown, Ohio location. This position is concerned with design and development of new products and/or substantially redesigning existing products in accordance with industry regulations, cost and quality guidelines.

\n

\n

Responsibilities Include:

\n

\n

\n
• Support sales and customer service through Engineering design and planning.
\n
• Part number creation & support in ERP software.
\n
• Equipment design & detailing of drawings.
\n
• Support design and documentation of ASME BPVC equipment.
\n
• Complete competitive and failure analysis.
\n
• Provide Engineering design support for all Dupps equipment.
\n
• Capable in organizing, managing, and prioritizing a cross functional design team in conjunction with the stage gate process.
\n
• Involved in every stage of new product development, from ideation to product launch
\n
• Redesigns and improves existing products
\n
• Prototypes and tests design concepts
\n
• Establishes budgets and schedules for the development of product improvements
\n
• Ensures that development is progressing according to schedule and within budgetary guidelines
\n
• Communicates and works well in a cross-departmental atmosphere to accomplish seamless transitions between product development stages
\n
• Works closely with management staff to establish targets for improvements
\n
• Completes special studies on as required basis including failure analysis of existing products
\n
• Interfaces with both sales and customers to fulfill needs and solve issues as needed
\n
• Optimizes both internal and external customer needs and requirements when making decisions and taking actions.
\n
• Overnight travel will be required as needed.
\n
• May perform other duties as requested or assigned.
\n

What Will You Need to Succeed?

\n

\n

\n
• FEA - Ansys Software Experience preferred.
\n
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent (Master’s a plus)
\n
• Minimum 3 years of experience working with heavy equipment design in manufacturing.
\n
• Experience with ASME BPVC Section 8, Div.1 design requirements a plus.
\n
• Proficient in 3D CAD software, Inventor preferred.
\n
• Must have high level proficiency in the use of Ansys FEA simulation software or other.
\n
• Ansys or equivalent CFD experience a plus.
\n
• Comprehensive knowledge of ERP software and related engineering functions with Epicor preferred.
\n
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, & Outlook).
\n
• Proven pro-active/results based on initiatives and outcomes.
\n
• Recognized design creativity pertaining to both new products and existing product improvement.
\n
• Familiar with manufacturing processes consistent with heavy fabrications.
\n
• Acquainted with large drive components and assemblies.
\n
• Background in Value Analysis, and continuous product improvement a plus.
\n
