Quality Assurance Specialist

The Quality Assurance Specialist (known internally as Value Creation and Quality Specialist or VCQ) at Pacific Seafood is a key role supporting our Regional VCQ Manager in the management, implementation and continued improvement of Pacific Seafood's VCQ Programs. This role will plan, coordinate, and direct the Quality Assurance Program designed to ensure continuous production of products consistent with established standards. This individual will support designated locations on VCQ activities as needed. This position requires an extremely detail oriented person who will support the administrative tasks associated with VCQ and EHS daily business operations.

Key Responsibilities

Be a role model in projecting and applying The Pacific Group Diamond Philosophy (Productivity, Quality, Excellence and Teamwork) and promote teamwork at all times.

Maintain the distribution product production specification Library. Gather product information and develop specifications as new products are created or update older specifications so they are current.

Perform administrative tasks working within the Trust Layer platform in support of Pacific Seafood's supplier approval program.

Maintain a centralized file location for storing VCQ KPI tracking, Mock Recall results and Pathogen Prevention (PPP) test results.

Collect, organize, store and report EHS data in accordance with the current reporting matrix.

Offer and implement training, as needed.

Remain current on all regulatory requirements and law changes.

Interpret and implement FDA, State, USDA, USDC regulations ensuring HACCP, SSOP, Cleaning/Sanitation, Pathogen Prevention, FSMA, Sanitary Transportation, Mitigation of intentional Adulteration, COOL, Bioterrorism Act and Traceability standards are met.

Establish and maintain GFSI/BRC/SQF/BAP/MSC/ASC/RFM standards to meet audit requirements.

Interact with Regulatory Agencies and/or third-party auditors.

Follow-up on customer complaints.

Perform internal/external audits and inspections to ensure that all standards and requirements are met.

Responsible for achievement of quality department goals and objectives.

Identify, investigate and report on critical quality defects on production processes and products.

Determine source of quality variance and specific steps to be taken in correcting the process and product.

Ensure systems are in place to make certain that vendors are capable of meeting quality expectations.

Prepare and submit reports as required.

Perform other duties, as assigned.

What You Bring To Pacific Seafood

Education and Experience

Minimum of one-year related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel, SharePoint, Airtable.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience with photography equipment.

Physical Requirements

Must be able to remain in a stationary position 80% of the time. Occasionally walk, stand, bend, reach, and/or crawl.

Occasionally moves and transports documents and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds across locations for various team members, departments and events.

Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and printer.

Frequently communicates with team members and stakeholders to convey detailed or important spoken instructions accurately, loudly, and/or quickly.

Must be able to perceive visuals to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer screen; extensive reading.

Standing. Particularly for sustained periods of time.

Walking. Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks.

Use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear.

Reaching. Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.

Grasping. Applying pressure to an object with the fingers and palm.

Talking. Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities in which they must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

Hearing. Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.

Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Working Conditions

Office, as well as warehouse environment.

Moderate noise level in the work environment.

Plant exposure to wet, cold, and/or humid temperatures.

Standard office equipment and heavy machinery.
