HVAC Truck Based Mechanic (union) AMARILLO, TX

Job Location Amarillo, TX Job Overview Johnson Controls Inc. is looking for skilled HVAC Mechanics to support the fast‑growing HVAC business in North America. Responsibilities Perform maintenance, repair, and replacement services on commercial heating and cooling systems. Partner with Journeymen to repair centrifugal, steam turbines, and open‑drive screw chillers. Provide customers with high‑level service to solve facility inefficiencies, resolve service‑related items, and recommend solutions for commissioning and aftermarket service. Develop and share quotes for recommendations and upselling opportunities. Qualifications Minimum of three (3) years of commercial and/or industrial HVAC mechanical troubleshooting experience, including rooftop units, pumps, fans, towers, boilers, chillers, compressors, and plumbing. Proficient in mechanical shaft alignment using dial indicators and vibration analysis for drivetrain troubleshooting. Member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry. Valid EPA refrigerants license, applicable state or local licensing, and a valid driver's license. Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document problems, causes, and corrective actions. Self‑starter with a passion for continuous learning and a commitment to safety. Willingness to travel 10–20% to support branch customers. Pass proficiency knowledge examinations as required. Pay & Benefits Hourly rate: $27.45 (determined by CBA/rate sheet). Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
