Schedule / Job Type

Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | Variable 4x10-hour shifts with start times of 7:30 AM, 8:00 AM, or 9:00 AM | Expected 40 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide post-anesthesia recovery care in a 14-bay PACU unit with a 1:2 patient ratio, averaging approximately 35 patients per day
• Care for patients following general, spine and neuro, GI, ENT, cardiac, peripheral vascular, and orthopedic procedures
• Stabilize ICU-level patients prior to transfer to the ICU
• Participate in on-call rotation: one night per week for 4 out of every 6 weeks, with a 30-minute response time requirement; call shift start time is 11:00 AM with a minimum 2-hour callback
• Participate in weekend on-call rotation every 5th weekend and holiday rotation as scheduled
• Document patient care accurately using electronic charting systems

Required Qualifications

• Active Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license
• AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
• Minimum 2 years of PACU experience with recent hospital experience
• Post-cardiac and pediatric patient experience required
• During flu season, travelers who decline flu or COVID vaccination are required to wear a mask at all times per facility policy; compliance is mandatory with no exceptions

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Epic EMR experience strongly preferred; candidates without Epic experience must have prior electronic charting experience
• Experience with post-recovery care across a diverse surgical case mix including cardiac, neuro, and pediatric populations
