Location Avera Behavioral Health Center – Sioux Falls, South Dakota Work Type & Shift Regular; Rotating days/evenings/nights, weekends, and holidays (United States of America) Pay Range $32.50 – $48.50 per hour, dependent on experience. Sign‑On Bonus up to $15,000 possible. Position Highlights Works across Behavioral Health Inpatient units, The Link, BHS Urgent Care, Behavioral Health Adolescent Addiction Unit. Average 1 RN for 7-8 patient ratio; 100% self‑schedule; Varied shifts: 72hrs/2wks, every 3rd weekend/holiday rotation. Eligible for Student Loan Repayment: $167 monthly toward loan (up to $10,000). Sign‑On Bonus up to $15,000. Autonomous practice: critical thinking, patient‑focused care, dynamic environment. Brief Overview Delivers nursing care by developing a nursing diagnosis; establishing care objectives; defining interventions; providing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, families, and friends; monitoring changing conditions; re‑evaluating care objectives. What You Will Do Provide patient care by reviewing physician prescriptions and communicating the nursing care plan to the healthcare team. Develop nursing care plans by obtaining medical histories, examining patients, documenting condition and social factors, and determining nursing diagnosis and objectives. Teach healthcare requirements, instruct patients and families on condition, medications, and self‑care; answer questions; provide resources. Evaluate patient care against therapeutic standards, measure outcomes, review records. Maintain safe environment by following infection‑control policies, medication protocols, controlled substance regulations, organization standards, and legal regulations. Document patient care services by charting in patient and department records. Keep equipment operating—follow instructions, troubleshoot, maintain supplies, perform preventive maintenance, and request repairs. Keep supplies ready by monitoring stock, anticipating needs, ordering, verifying receipt, and stocking items. Maintain competence in nursing capabilities outlined by leadership. Essential Qualifications Must be able to work specified hours and perform essential job functions. Visual acuity adequate to perform duties. Effective communication skills: speaking, hearing, understanding speech and other sounds. Registered Nurse (RN) with active state license. Preferred Qualifications 1–3 years experience working in a clinical environment.
